Google Earth/Maps has been used to show the location of nuclear bombs and map out nuclear disaster potential for a while now.  Alex Wellerstein’s NukeMap was a very popular tool, and now he’s back with a Google Earth plugin-powered 3D map called NukeMap 3D.

The new application does it exactly what you’d expect — it allows you to view potential nuclear detonations in 3D.

The options for the map are very impressive, allowing you to choose a location, explosive yield of your bomb, and various effects (such as the “effects circle” and “mushroom cloud” seen above).

Check it out for yourself at nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap3d/ or read more about it on Google Maps Mania.
